Nearly seven decades ago, under a warm and moonlit Texas night, II ADAM MINISTRIES (2AM) was born. It was just past midnight on September 14, 1950 and nineteen -year old Elias Flores had just returned to a friend’s place following a night of bar-hopping around Wharton, a dust blown city 60 miles southwest of Houston. He was sitting down with a lukewarm beer in his right hand, a pack of unfiltered smokes rolled into his left sleeve and listening to the incoherent ramblings of other wayward souls. He kept thinking to himself, “these people don’t know what they’re talking about. What am I doing in their world?” And besides, he thought, “I’m tired of the Godless life I’ve been living.” So, with his beer now resigned to an antithetical prop, in a life altering scene, and playing out in the predawn hours of an early Texas Fall, Elias uttered silently, “God, if you take me out of this world, I promise to follow you always.” The next day Elias joined a church.

Born in 1930 in Stockdale, Texas, a hard-scrabble city just a stone’s throw from San Antonio, Elias was the second eldest of 10 children born to Sebastian and Eulalia Flores. Though spiritually directionless during his teenage years, he was always a hard worker and good brother to his nine siblings. Following his acceptance of God into his life, and with his spiritual compass attuned to God’s word, he began his life’s journey with the Almighty Father. And while there were twists and turns along the way, the most significant part of his pilgrimage was marrying Rachel Salinas, a beautiful and spirited follower of Jesus whom he met while both were students at CLADIC Seminary in Los Angeles. They were married in 1958 and by the early 1970s they had six children. Elias’s studious and intellectual approach complemented Rachel’s passion and zeal in raising their children to love God, learn scripture, and be obedient to God’s will; they established a biblical foundation for their children to build upon in pursuit of lifelong Godly service. Those children, now adults, live life to serve the Lord. Moises, the founder and Senior Pastor of II ADAM MINISTRIES, along with Marcos, Rebecca, Miriam, and their father Elias work hand in hand to see God’s purpose unfold and enrich the lives of everyone who they come in contact with through II ADAM MINISTRIES, and their respective personal lives.

II ADAM MINISTRIES was officially launched in January 2014, but it really got its beginning on that long ago and far away night in Wharton, Texas. Senior Pastor Moises, Associate Pastor Marcos, Associate Ministers Rebecca and Miriam, and Director of Biblical Education, Elias are committed to bringing the gospel of the Lord to the masses through Sunday Services, Wednesday Night Bible Study and multiple ministries and services. The team focuses on ministering to their congregants and reaching out to communities through in-person and online Sunday services, and developing potential pastors. Pastor Moises and his team have created a culture of genuine brotherhood and sisterhood–and they invite you to know and love Jesus–and to Be Awakened @ 2AM.

The foundation of our faith comes from our dad, Elias, and our mom, Rachel.
